Committee Information
Education Advocacy Committee
This committee is comprised of local educators who represent area school districts of Region 19, post-secondary institutions such as UTEP and EPCC, technical schools and workforce development partners. Members are committed to enhancing the quality of life in the region by aligning their advocacy efforts. Creating a unified vision for education in El Paso is critical to the community’s economic future. In 2010 members will meet to discuss the outlook for education at the state level and work to develop an advocacy agenda for the 82nd Legislative Session. The legislative agenda developed is amenable to both the education and business sector and will be advocated for in Austin.

All advocacy items must be submitted to the division by July 1, 2010.
Business and Education Council
This committee is comprised of educators, the business community and workforce development partners. The goal of the council is to encourage partnerships that will enhance education in El Paso by creating a space for constructive dialogue. Both sectors’ continued support is essential if a meaningful impact is to be made on the quality of and opportunity for education in the region. The council is currently working to narrow the scope of its work.
