Richard E. Dayoub is president and CEO of the El Paso Chamber of Commerce.
In his tenure he has served numerous local, state, and international groups and committees. Since joining the El Paso Chamber in 2003, Richard has supported the efforts of many community focused entities; such as The Collaborative for Academic Excellence, Child Crisis Center, Junior Achievement, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and El Paso Child Guidance Center.
His work with El Paso’s local military community earned him the Fort Bliss Citizen of the Year Award in 2009 and inducted into the Fort Bliss Hall of Fame in 2013.
In recent years Dayoub has held leadership roles in numerous organizations such as the Texas Metro Chambers of Commerce, Ford Foundation Fellowship, American Chamber of Commerce Executives, ACCE Board of Directors, and Metro Cities Council.
In his pre chamber career, Dayoub was the president and CEO of a predominant regional travel company for nearly thirty years. In that capacity, he oversaw the growth and expansion of a company that transformed from a small local operation into a national powerhouse with offices spanning several states. Under his leadership every major airline, tour, and cruise company in the country recognized the company as the highest producing retailer in the southwest. He additionally served on American Airline’s Travel Advisory Committee for ten years.
Richard attended the University of Texas at El Paso majoring in speech and theatre studies and recently returned to complete his work in Interdisciplinary Studies. Dayoub is a graduate of the Institute for Organizational Management completing his coursework at the University of Arizona. Additionally, he is an ACCE Fellow for Education Attainment, and received his Certified Chamber Executive Designation in 2014. Richard is an Air Force veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. He is married to Veronica Villaverde Dayoub, has four children, and one granddaughter.
