Parochial and Private Schools

El Paso has over 25 parochial schools.

El Paso's private schools are growing and number over 50. There are several private schools that offer specialized academic education as well as technical and mechanical education.

In May 1997 St. Clement’s Episcopal Parish School was among 36 private and 253 pubic schools in the nation to be awarded the Blue Ribbon for it’s strong academic record.

In 1998, Loretto Academy for girls received this honor. Blue Ribbon schools must demonstrate excellent teaching, leadership, community and parental involvement, a disciplined, safe and drug-free environment.
