EDUCATION IN EL PASO El Paso Public Schools Three main school districts serve El Paso: El Paso Independent School District, Ysleta Independent School District and Socorro Independent School District.
The El Paso ISD comprises 12 high schools, 16 middle/junior high school, 55 elementary schools, 8 specialty schools, 2 adult learning centers and 1 alternative school.
The Ysleta ISD comprises 7 high schools, 11 middle/junior high, 33-elementary, 2 Pre-K schools, an international language school, an academy of science and technology, an entrepreneur center and intermediate school, and an adult community learning center.
Socorro ISD has 3 high schools, 6 middle schools, 13 elementary schools, an early childhood center, an alternate school and a community education program.

Parochial and Private Schools
El Paso has over 25 parochial schools.
El Paso's private schools are growing and number over 50. There are several private schools that offer specialized academic education as well as technical and mechanical education.
In May 1997 St. Clement’s Episcopal Parish School was among 36 private and 253 pubic schools in the nation to be awarded the Blue Ribbon for it’s strong academic record.
In 1998, Loretto Academy for girls received this honor. Blue Ribbon schools must demonstrate excellent teaching, leadership, community and parental involvement, a disciplined, safe and drug-free environment.
