The El Paso Chamber is saddened by the tragic events on August 3rd, in our city. We join in solidarity with those whose families have been impacted by the violence and are grateful to our community’s leadership and the first responders for their swift action.
For its part, the Chamber will honor the victims of the August 3rd tragedy by:
Lighting the Star on the Mountain in collaboration with City’s memorial service on August 14th.
We are taking the proceeds from the August 6th State of the Business event and donating them to a number of charities assisting the victims and their families, including the El Paso Community Foundation, and the Paso del Norte Community Foundation.
The Chamber also continues to coordinate calls from all around the country seeking to support our community, directing that support to appropriate entities.
Finally, we would like to use this opportunity to discuss the importance of diversity to both our community and our country. We at the chamber think that diversity is critical foundation for our country, and a powerful enabler of business. We have created a diversity policy for our members that reiterates the Chamber’s position on the importance of diversity within business and our community.
