Sales and Membership Specialist

Job Description: The Membership and Sales Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with generating leads, sales management, and providing exceptional customer service.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify prospective Chamber members and execute a targeted monthly sales plan.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized list of membership prospects, with a focus on
    converting leads to new members.
  • Attain a comprehensive understanding of all Chamber membership tiers and the
    corresponding benefits to effectively communicate value to businesses.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established goals for new membership sales and member retention.
  • Collaborate with the President & CEO to define and track key performance metrics,
    including sales, member outreach, and engagement activity.
  • Support the design and implementation of member surveys and other research initiatives to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay well-informed and actively engaged with Chamber objectives, initiatives, services, events, and member offerings.
  • Represent the Chamber at meetings, networking events, and community functions to strengthen relationships and increase visibility.
  • Partner with the President & CEO and finance team to enhance retention strategies and monitor membership engagement.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with Chamber members, partners, and volunteers.
  • Assist with collections of overdue memberships and manage cancellation requests.
  • Optimize the use of the membership database, ensuring data accuracy and efficient member tracking.
  • Lead and oversee the Chamber Ambassador Program, providing guidance and support to ambassadors.
  • Serve as a professional and positive representative of the Chamber at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Chamber operations and growth.

 

Skill Requirements and Qualifications:

  • College-level education preferred (preferably a degree in business, management,
    communications or a related field);
  • Three to five years’ experience in sales,
  • Sales management or related field;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong customer orientation; general computer skills;
  • Must be organized, can work independently as well as in a team setting;
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check.
  • Bilingual preferred due to service area
  • Initiative-taking with B2B sales experience
  • Strong sales and prioritizing focus
  • Excellent follow-up skills
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Ability to set and meet goals
